The APC covers editorial handling, peer review administration, copy-editing, typesetting, DOI registration, hosting and long-term preservation. It is payable only after a manuscript has been accepted following peer review. Authors are informed of the charge at submission.

Independence of Editorial Decisions

Payment of the APC has no bearing whatsoever on the editorial decision. Reviewers and handling editors are not informed of an author's payment or waiver status.

Waiver Policy

JEBMR grants full or partial waivers to authors who lack the means to pay, with particular regard to corresponding authors based in countries classified by the World Bank as low-income or lower-middle-income economies.

Waiver requests should be made at the time of submission by writing to editor@jebmr.com, with a brief statement of circumstances. Waiver decisions are made by the Managing Editor and are communicated separately from, and without influence on, the editorial decision.

Refunds

Where an article is retracted owing to an error attributable to the journal, the APC is refunded in full.
