Policy

The Journal of Evidence-Based Medical Research encourages open sharing of the data underlying published findings, to the extent permitted by participant consent, ethical approval and applicable law.

Data Availability Statement

Every research article must include a Data Availability Statement, placed before the reference list, selected from the following:

The data supporting the findings of this study are openly available in [repository name] at [DOI or accession number].
The data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author, [name], upon reasonable request.
The data supporting the findings of this study are available from [third party] but restrictions apply; data are available from the authors with the permission of [third party].
Data sharing is not applicable to this article as no new data were created or analysed.
The data supporting the findings of this study are not publicly available owing to restrictions arising from participant consent and the risk of re-identification. [Explain any conditions for access.]

Restricted Data

Where individual participant data cannot be shared, authors are encouraged to deposit de-identified aggregate data, the analysis code, and the study protocol.

Honouring Requests

Authors who state that data are available on request are expected to honour such requests. Persistent failure to do so may result in an editorial note being appended to the article.
